Mahogany Mermaids
How We Started
In 2014, Mahogany Mermaids distinguished itself as a swim club that boldly confronts the misconception that “Black people don’t swim”. We were the first all-Black, all-female club formed in US Masters Swimming's history.
In 2020, we rebranded to Mahogany Mermaids Masters Swimmers. This invite only program represents Evolutionary Aquatics at swim meets and other swim events across the country.

How We Serve
In the water, we provide excellent youth and adults water safety programming.
On the water, we provide kayak safety support and coaching at open water practices and races.
On land, we partner with other programs to provide school supplies, organize youth bike camps, and be the strong Black women role models needed in our community.
