INTRODUCTION TO AQUATIC SKILLS
This beginner-friendly course is designed for adults with little to no swimming experience. Using the American Red Cross curriculum, Level 1 focuses on building comfort and confidence in the water through foundational skills such as breath control, floating, basic movement, and water safety.
No prior experience is required.
Small groups. Personalized coaching.
We believe swim skills are essential. A limited number of sliding-scale spots ($90-$110) are available each session to help keep this program accessible. If cost is a barrier, we encourage you to reach out.
American Red Cross Learn-to-Swim Curriculum Objectives:
Enter and exit water using ladder, steps or side
Blow bubbles through mouth and nose
Bobbing
Open eyes under water and retrieve submerged objects
Front and back glides and floats
Recover to vertical position
Roll from front to back and back to front
Tread water using arm and hand actions
Alternating and simultaneous leg actions on front and back
Alternating and simultaneous arm actions on front and back
Combined arm and leg actions on front and back
